How to Use Forms, Surveys, and Calendars in Funnels

This tutorial will cover how to use forms, surveys, and calendars within the funnel builder. This allows you to capitalize on the booking feature of the funnel builder, which can help you enhance your business.

Step 1: Create a Form, Survey, or Calendar to add to your funnel

  • Navigate to Sites on the left > Funnels at the top and select the desired Funnel.
  • Within the Form/Survey builder, create the form or survey you wish to use. If you need a calendar, navigate to Settings > Calendars to create a calendar. (We have separate tutorials that cover the form and survey builders, as well as calendars, so check those out or step-by-step guides!)
  • Once you’ve created a form, survey, or calendar that you wish to use, you’ll be able to add it in the Funnel Builder as an “Element” of the funnel page.

Step 2: Adding the Elements into your Funnel

  • Using the drag-and-drop features in the funnel builder, add the desired element(s) such as images, text boxes, a calendar, and/or a form.
  • Once the element has been added, navigate to the right to see the “Settings” menu in the Funnel Builder. Here you’ll see a “General” and “Advanced” tab, for any customizable features within the specific element that’s highlighted.
  • NOTEThere is a CSS section where you can add additional code for further customization, but all the default available customizations can be found under the 2 Settings tabs.
  • For Forms, you’ll see general spacing options, the form selector where you can choose which Form (if you have multiple in Referins) appears, redirect action, and more.
  • NOTE: The redirect action is especially important as it tells Referins where to direct someone after the form is submitted. If you don’t have a redirect action, it will appear as if the funnel is broken when somebody submits a form because it doesn't know what to do after somebody clicks on your button. One of the most common redirect options is to a website URL. (For example, if someone fills out an order or inquiry form, you may want to redirect them to a funnel page to learn more about your business, etc.)

Pro Tips

  1. Optimize Redirect Actions:
Always set up a redirect action for forms to ensure a seamless user experience. Redirecting to a thank-you page or another funnel step can increase engagement and prevent confusion for users after form submissions.
  2. Use Custom CSS Wisely:
While the CSS section allows for advanced customization, focus on minor tweaks like adjusting colors or spacing. Avoid overloading the code to maintain compatibility with default functionalities.
  3. Preview Before Publishing:
Always preview your funnel after adding forms, surveys, or calendars to ensure everything works as expected, including the redirect actions and layout alignment.
  4. Leverage Advanced Tabs:
Explore the "Advanced" tab settings for additional options like spacing adjustments and style customizations, which can help you fine-tune the user experience without coding.
  5. Align Forms and Surveys with Goals:
Tailor your forms and surveys to capture only essential information. Long forms may deter users, so keep fields concise and relevant to your business needs.

FAQs

  1. What happens if I don’t set a redirect action for my form?
If a redirect action isn’t set, users will not be directed anywhere after submitting the form, making it seem as if the funnel is broken. Always configure a redirect action to improve user flow.
  2. Can I add multiple forms or surveys to a single funnel page?
Yes, you can add multiple forms or surveys, but ensure they have clear labels or instructions to avoid confusing users.
  3. What customization options are available in the funnel builder for forms?
You can adjust spacing, select specific forms to display, configure redirect actions, and add custom CSS for further styling.
  4. Does the country picker toggle remove the "Select Country" field completely?
No, the toggle only hides the automatic country flag next to the phone number field but does not remove the "Select Country" dropdown.

5. Can I use calendars created outside Referins in the funnel builder?
No, only calendars created within the platform can be added as elements in the funnel builder. Ensure you create or import the calendar into your account before using it.
