Bulk Action Delivery Options

Bulk actions are a convenient way to take action for a group of contacts. After selecting a group of contacts or selecting a smart list you can send them emails, send SMS, and add them to workflows. In this article, we will go over the delivery options when taking these actions.

How to Access:

  • First Navigate to the Contacts area
  • After selecting the contacts and action you then have sending options:
  • Send all at once
  • Send all at a scheduled time
  • Send in drip mode

Please Note: In drip mode, you can send out in batches and set time windows.

Example: Let’s say in batches of 100 repeating every 5 hours within a specific timeframe during selected days.

Please Note: When drip mode hits an unselected day it freezes until resuming the window so a bunch of contacts will not be processed at once when it resumes.

Please Note: Workflow windows for specific times will override bulk action settings if set up.

Please Note: If you've scheduled the bulk action for the future or are in drip mode you'll see the three dots icon on the bulk actions tab where you can click delete, or click edit and make changes if the action has yet to begin.

Viewing Bulk Actions

To view the status of a Bulk Action, go to Contacts > Bulk Actions > Click on the 3 dots Tab to view the status and/or pause the action.

FAQ’s

1. Can I schedule bulk actions far in advance?

  • Answer: Bulk actions can be scheduled up to 720 hours (approximately 30 days) in advance. This allows you to plan and automate actions well ahead of time.

2. What happens if drip mode hits an unselected day?

  • Answer: If drip mode encounters an unselected day in its schedule, the action will freeze until the next selected day. This prevents a backlog of messages from being processed all at once when the action resumes.

3. Do workflow windows affect bulk action settings?

  • Answer: Yes, workflow windows set for specific times will override the bulk action settings. This means that any constraints or timing preferences set in the workflow will take precedence over bulk action configurations.

4. Why should I use drip mode instead of sending all at once?

  • Answer: Drip mode is useful for managing the delivery of messages over time, reducing the risk of overwhelming contacts, and improving deliverability rates. It also allows you to control the flow of communication, making it more manageable and strategic.

5. Can I pause a bulk action once it has started?

  • Answer: Yes, you can pause a bulk action after it has started by going to the Contacts > Bulk Actions area and using the options available in the three dots tab. This allows you to stop the action temporarily if needed.

6. What should I do if I need to change a bulk action that has been scheduled?

  • Answer: If the bulk action has not yet begun, you can click on the three dots icon in the Bulk Actions tab to edit the action. You can make adjustments to the schedule, and delivery options, or even cancel the action if required.
