Welcome to Community Chats, where you can easily connect with your community through private 1-on-1 messaging. This guide covers the essential features, privacy settings, and how to get started, ensuring a smooth and secure chat experience for both users and admins.

Important Note:
You need to join a group to start chatting with its members, so be sure you're a group member to access the chat feature.

Chat Features:

  • 1-on-1 Messaging: Connect directly with any member, whether they’re an admin or a regular user.
  • Media Sharing: Share photos, files, GIFs, and lots of emojis to add a fun touch to your conversations.
  • Push Notifications: Enable real-time message notifications to stay in the loop instantly (with sound alerts).

How to start

Accessing Groups:

  • Click on Memberships on the left sidebar.
  • Go to Communities at the top, then select Groups to see all available groups.
  • As an admin, click Login to enter the desired group.

Enabling/Disabling Chat:

  • Click on Manage your Account in the top right corner.
  • Scroll down to Communities & Chats at the bottom. Toggle it on or off as needed.
  • Block Users: Keep your messages spam-free by blocking anyone you’d prefer not to chat with.

Accessing Chat on Desktop:

  • Inside the group, go to Members.
  • In the top right corner, find the chat icon to see all available chats.
  • Alternatively, click on a member’s name, view their profile, and click Chat at the bottom right.

What you can do within the Chat Window

Share Media & Files: Easily send photos, videos, documents, and more to enrich your conversations.

Use Emojis & GIFs: Add personality to your chats by using a variety of emojis and GIFs to express yourself.

Blocking Unwanted Messages: To block a user sending unwanted messages, open the chat, click on the Options dropdown, and select "Block User." Once blocked, the user will no longer be able to send you messages.

Using Chat on Mobile:

  • Open the app and go to Community.
  • In the top right corner, tap on the message icon to view all chats.
  • To start a chat, you can search by member name or click on unread messages to reply.

  • Yes, you can disable group chats by logging in to the community > Profile > Account Settings > Community Chat and turning off chat for specific groups.
